RESIDENCY AT THE SOU'WESTER LODGE
Oh February... why are you always so difficult? The holiday work madness subsides, the parties and festivities end, the weather gets progressively shitty and then it's February - nothing but a whole lot of cold and dark and quiet.
Sure.. I have a crazy long list of things to do and resolutions for the New Year, but let's get real - I suck at winter.
Get me out of here.
It's around this time last year that I did a residency at the Sou'wester Lodge at the coast in Seaview, Washington to work on some new designs. I called them up to see if they had any spots open in the next month or two... They happened to have an opening the following week so I jumped on it. Time to do some self reflecting, work out some new ideas, decompress, make a plan, not freak out.
I managed to finish several patterns and prototypes in between beach walks, hikes and lodge hangs with the other residency fellows who were working on their respective films that same week. A major snow storm in Portland kept me there for an extra 3 days - a fortuitous extension... I didn't really want to leave anyway. Thank you Sou'wester!
